The Pop-Up Club on Dukes Lane is a beautifully curated shop that features a variety of indie businesses and artists offering the people of Brighton the perfect selection of Christmas gifts – meaning you have no excuse not to shop small this Christmas!

Tell us a little bit about you and the story behind your brand.

I started out as a market trader in Essex with a dream of having my own shop, and after leaving my local high street market I decided to start my own in a pub car park. I was eventually offered spaces within empty shops and that’s how The Pop-Up Club was born.

How would you summarise your brand?

The Pop-Up Club provides affordable retail spaces for artists, makers and small indie businesses.

Why did you choose Dukes Lane to launch your pop up?

Brighton has such a strong indie scene it seemed a no brainer to head down to the coast. And where else would you want to be other than a famous lane!

Which artists and makers are you working with and why?

We work with hundreds of artists and makers. Some of the small businesses we’re showcasing in Brighton are: Jiminy Wickett – handmade candle maker, Rickus Ra – ethically sourced and handmade homeware & gifting and Lidia Russo – a sustainable designer. We work with brands with sustainability at their core.

What does shopping ‘small’ or ‘local’ really mean for independent business?

Shopping small and local means the world to independent businesses. All of our traders put their heart and soul into their work, and into producing gifts that are ethical and of high quality. Every sale made has a huge impact on their business growth, and we are so excited to be joined by so many amazing indies this Christmas!

What can people expect from your pop up this Christmas?

A beautifully curated selection of high quality gifts – from jewellery to art, clothing to prints, the Pop-Up Club is a treasure trove of wonderful products.
