Thank you PRIDE 2022!
08 / 08 / 22Last weekend we celebrated one of Brighton’s biggest annual events, Pride 2022, and showed our support and solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community here on Dukes Lane. Here's a look back on Pride 2022!
Pride is about community
Over 3,500 Pride-goers visited us here at Dukes Lane for Pride on the Lane. A huge thank you to all that came along!
The fabulous Lovinia Belle took centre courtyard with an incredible cabaret show. With plenty of sing-a-long hits, a little taste of Opera, and even some swing dancing – what better way to come together and celebrate Pride.
Our Rainbow Lane installation has become a popular photo spot amongst visitors this summer – and we’ve loved seeing your snaps @dukes.lane.brighton. Keep ’em coming…we’re partial to a doggy pic.
And if you’ve loved showing your Pride at Dukes Lane this summer, why not support young LGBQT+ people while you’re at it?
We’re fundraising for The Albert Kennedy Trust (akt) for the fourth year in a row. akt is a national charity that supports young LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25 in the UK who are experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment. They support young people into safe homes and employment, education or training, in a welcoming and open environment that celebrates LGBTQ+ identities.
We’ve raised over £5,000 for the charity to-date with events including the ‘Room For Love’ exhibition in collaboration with our very own, They Made This, in 2019 that featured limited edition Pride prints from 15 artists such as Supermundane, Camille Walala and Morag Myerscough.
You can simply donate using the QR codes around Dukes Lane when you visit us until end of August or head to akt.org.uk to find out more.
Thank you to everyone has donated so far and we can’t wait to see you for next year’s for Brighton Pride celebrations.
